The Phenomenology of Madness: Current Issues and Clinical Applications.
Phenomenological approaches to psychopathology in general and to schizophrenia in particular have become increasingly popular because of their emphasis on subjective experience. While phenomenological concepts may deepen our understanding on important clinical manifestations of psychosis, therapeutic consequences have been somewhat neglected until recently. This symposium will therefore address some current issues in phenomenological research with particular regard to its potential to inform psychotherapy. As this is an emergent field, we aim to inspire a hopefully lively discussion among speakers and guest.
Note that this symposium will be held in English. However, you are welcome to pose any question or comment also in German.
