social year (FSJ)
Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) /
A voluntary social year (FSJ) offers you the opportunity to support and accompany other people while experiencing a lot yourself, discovering new things and gaining valuable experience.
You can gain lots of practical insights, expand your social and personal skills, experience community and actively help to shape our society. You will be an important member of the team at all of our volunteer centres and you can look forward to exciting tasks and meaningful work.
- An FSJ improves your chances of finding a training or study place in the nursing, social and educational fields, but also in all other professions.
- You can have the FSJ recognised as a pre-study internship for certain professions or as a practical part of the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences.
- With an FSJ, you can bridge the transition between school and university or career entry in a meaningful way and carry out socially very important and responsible work.
- You can use your FSJ as a waiting semester when applying for a university place. It can also earn you additional social points in some degree programmes.
- The weekly working hours are 38.5 hours per week and, like all ZfP employees, you are entitled to 30 days holiday per year.
- The FSJ is remunerated (depending on the organisation) with approx. 400 Euros pocket money per month.
In their role as employers, the FSJ organisations take on the educational support seminars and bring together participants from different areas and institutions.
