Dual study programme "Physician Assistant" /
Together with our dual study programme partner, we offer an exciting and varied dual study programme for Physician Assistants to anyone who has completed medical vocational training (professional experience is an advantage).
Versatile, responsible and focussed on people /
As a Physician Assistant, you will work closely with the medical staff and take on various tasks in the inpatient and operating theatre areas, such as
- Taking medical histories and performing physical examinations
- Diagnostics
- Carrying out and explaining a treatment plan
- Preparing and assisting with operations
- Independently carrying out minor procedures such as wound care
Interdisciplinary co-operation with our various professional groups improves the quality of patient care. As a Physician Assistant, you will make a significant contribution to ensuring and maintaining high-quality patient care.
During the three-year degree programme, the theoretical phases take place alternately at the DHBW in Karlsruhe and the practical phases at the ZfP Reichenau and the Klinikum Konstanz.
The dual study programme to become a Physician Assistant deepens and expands the knowledge already acquired through previous training. The aim of the programme is to provide a structured further qualification for healthcare professions at university level in order to meet the increasing demands in the field of medical care.
The theoretical training, which lasts approx. 72 weeks, takes place at the DHBW in Karlsruhe.
You will complete the practical training of approx. 85 weeks at the ZfP Reichenau and the Klinikum Konstanz. You will be professionally supervised by medical specialists and/or a trained Physician Assistant.
Training allowance & recognition /
You will receive 1,400 Euros per month throughout the programme.
The programme is successfully completed when you have passed all module examinations and the Bachelor's thesis. The DHBW will then award you the degree "Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)".
Start of studies /
The course starts every year on 1 October at the DHBW Karlsruhe.
Accommodation /
During your practical phases at ZfP Reichenau, you can move into a room in our on-site dormitory if required.
